Up at 6 am for a wild cab ride to JFK. Check in was so amazingly efficient, and security so quick, we wound up sitting for hours until our departure, not quite awake, and not quite asleep.
First stop Hong Kong, which is 12 time zones away. We fly over the top, crossing near the north pole, and drop down on the other side. After a ride just short of 15 hours on a 777 ER, we make it to Hong Kong, for another 3 hour wait for the Bangkok run. Arriving in Blackcock around 7 pm in time for a mini van ride into town to the hotel. Crossing the date line, it becomes tomorrow today.
The pictures are the latest thing, a computer simulation of the flight played on your seatback TV. In between movies you can check your progress. We’ve come a long way from the DC-3.
